Customer Service Optician needed in Glenview

 Would you love to solve problems to help people live better lives?  Our team needs a compassionate and dedicated professional to help our patients leave our office looking stylish in their perfect new pair of glasses. You’ll be handling a lot of the important work that goes on to set our doctor and patient up for success and you’ll be helping our patients choose the right glasses for them based on their personal style, lifestyle needs, prescription, and more. This is not just some sales job, your role is to be an educator and a style consultant. 

NO Experience Needed:

 Prior medical office or eyecare experience is a plus, but it’s certainly not required. We offer paid training to the right person with a great attitude, a helpful heart, and a love of learning!  

Some of your duties will include:

-  Helping people pick out frames that suit them based on the shape of their face, bridge fit, lifestyle, and prescription.

-   Determining the best lens types, materials, coatings, and brands for patients’ lifestyles. For example, a kid who plays basketball will need something different from someone who works on a computer all day.

-   Educating first-timers on how to use and take care of their glasses and/or contact lenses

-   Troubleshooting prescription issues and miscellaneous repairs, taking accurate measurements for all lens styles and prescriptions, checking new glasses for fit and making adjustments

-      Taking the patient back to the exam room and verifying their medical history, documenting concerns and changes, establishing a baseline and documenting all necessary measurements

-      Spending 15+ minutes with each patient before the doctor comes in, performing duties such as measuring retinal function, peripheral vision, and retinal thickness; and taking retinal photographs. (You’ll be using the same type of instruments NASA uses on the space station!)

-    Performing tests based on the doctor’s diagnoses.

-   Consistent training for optimal career growth (expected and offered)

-  Welcome patients and pull medical records. 

-  Accurately chart insurance and patient information, billing insurance,  explaining to patients what their insurance or savings plan cover.

-   Keeping the optical space looking clean, neat and welcoming, doing inventory, ordering, sending and receiving shipments.
